Groves makes an annual award each year; in odd numbered years the award is the Feldman Award; in even numbered years the award is the Sussman Award
The Feldman Award is given for a scholarly publication that focuses on race and ethnicity issues impacting the family.
All Groves members are invited to nominate for the 2009 Feldman Award.

SUSSMAN AWARD
The Sussman Award is given for a scholarly publication related to the conference theme of the year it is awarded.
2008 Sussman Award Winner. Dr. Celia Falicov is the recipient of the Sussman Award for 2008 for her article published in Family Process in 2007 entitled: “Working with Transnational Immigrants: Expanding Meanings of Family, Community, and Culture.” Dr Falicov has agreed to present her work at the 2009 Groves Conference on Marriage and Family in Chapel Hill, NC (June 7-11, 2009). Dr. Falicov is a clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California-San Diego, in addition to having a private practice.
